Als die US Metal Legende RIOT im März 1988 ihr sechstes Studioalbum »Thundersteel« veröffentlichte, war dem Quartett nach ihrer stilistischen Kurskorrektur hin zum Speed Metal vermutlich nicht bewusst, welch einen Klassiker sie damit geschmiedet haben. Noch heute zaubern Granaten wie der alles überragende Titeltrack und Hits vom Kaliber ‚Johnny‘s Back‘, ‚Flight Of The Warrior‘, ‚On Wings Of Eagles‘ oder das epische ‚Sign Of The Crimson Storm‘ jedem Metaller die Freudentränen in die Augen. 30 Jahre später, spielten RIOT V mehrere Jubiläumsshows mit einem Best-Of Set sowie »Thundersteel« in voller Länge. Die Konzerte fanden u.a. in Japan statt, wo die Band seit jeher einen ganz besonderen Kultstatus besitzt. So entstand im November 2018 der atemberaubende Mitschnitt zu »Live In Japan 2018«, der nun für die Ewigkeit festgehalten wurde. Das 23 Tracks umfassende Live-Dokument untermauert die Spitzenklasse und gegenwärtige Topform, in der sich RIOT V weiterhin befinden.
