Is there any other band that has influenced progressive metal as much as FATES WARNING? The answer is a resounding NO!
Ask members of DREAM THEATER or QUEENSRYCHE about their biggest musical influences, the first name that will be mentioned in an almost reverent way will be the one of Jim Matheos’ band. What started in 1984 with “Night On Bröcken” found its peak in the now legendary “No Exit” album, which established the band as leaders of the progressive metal movement. In the course of the celebrations of Metal Blade’s 25th anniversary, “No Exit” is being reissued with tons of bonus material.
Besides the actual songs that made this album a classic, you get out-takes, demos, and a bonus DVD featuring live footage from the “No Exit” world tour 1988 as well as the making of the “Silent Cries” and “Anarchy Divine” music videos. As always with re-issues from Metal Blade, the fan gets real value for money. This is an invitation to dwell in the past and rediscover it for today. FATES WARNING have always offered a lot to discover. Why shouldn’t this be the case today, 19 years after the original release of “No Exit”?
