Hardcore Punk (often simply Hardcore or HC) came up at the end of the 1970s in the USA and England and was basically a more radical and faster further development of Punk Rock.
Hardcore Punk had great influence on genres that came up afterwards, such as Grunge, Crossover or Metalcore.
Furthermore, Hardcore Punk stands for other values and ideas than Punk Rock. Often, ideas and ideals like family or the abandonment of drugs and alcohol were central, which later also became central motifs for the Straight Edge movement, that evolved from this scene.
