2001-05-28 - Here's an official message by the band themselves! "We have already been in the studio and have recorded 3 of the new songs for the next album as demos and the tracks so far are called THE PATRIOT, NEON ANGEL and LOOK TO THE STARS.
We also recorded a tribute song that was written about Thin Lizzy frontman Philip Lynott...that song was originally recorded and planned for a special EP type of release, a kind of tribute EP but our label Nuclear Blast liked the track so much that they have strongly insisted on it being on the New Pegazus album.
We have given it some thought and after giving the song some exposure to fans and friends, it has been also highly suggested to be included on the new album...so it shall be done!
The new album title was actually decided and chosen about 9 months ago and it is now finally the time to reveal that the new Pegazus album is called THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN....
We have currently been hard at work on a few more songs that we want to demo in the studio very soon...they are called, SPREAD YOUR WINGS, FOREVER CHASING RAINBOWS and the title track THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN...the new songs are sounding very traditional, melodic and very typical Pegazus indeed, with a slight addition of heaviness and pace oo!
We are very excited and proud of the new material that is going to be the new album and can't wait to let our truest fans out there to also hear it in the near future."
New PEGAZUS Album Cover by RUSSELL BENNETT
The new album's cover artwork is currently being painted by a great
Australian fantasy artist called Russell Bennett...we have seen the rough
sketches so far and can't wait to see the finished art.
We absolutely loved the album covers that Andreas Marschall did for the last
2 Pegazus albums but we were approached by Russell earlier this year who
showed us some of his works and we were very impresssed with what we saw.
It's also become a better arrangement for us as a band in the way that we
can now have a much closer contact and hands on approach with the artist
doing our artwork.
Russell and the band is also working on another exciting project that we
won't mention in detail just yet but we do hope it will also be ready around
the time of the release of the new album later this year...we will keep our
fans informed closer to when it becomes a definite reality on future band
news updates ok.
ROBBIE STOJ to have an Operation and Album Recording Delayed
The actual recording sessions for 'The Headless Horseman' album were meant
to begin in June but it has now been set back to a later time, possibly July
or August...this only happened recently when we found out that drummer and
brother Robbie has to go to hospital for an immediate minor operation. He
has been suffering a great deal of sharp pain in his groin area from a
Hernia strain that happened over a year ago and with time it has only become
much worse now, that it becomes very painful to even sit down and play the
drums, so it has been best advised that he gets it operated on as soon as
possible to get him back into proper shape to pound those drums for Pegazus
again soon...we all wish him well and a speedy recovery.
Up until last week, we were hoping that we could do the other demos very
soon but it's not going to be possible as he goes to hospital this coming
Monday on the 28th of May...Robbie will be out of action according to the
doctors for a minimum of a month, so we'll have to play it by ear to see
when we can commence with rehearsing and recording the demos, etc...
Best Wishes & Metal Forever
Johnny, Robbie, Cory & Rob
