2014

TVCJanuary: New year, new sound!

After the final breath of the previous year was concluding in a versatile sonic retrospect with the re-releases of ANTHRAX, COMMINIC, SUBWAY TO SALLY and HELLOWEEN, 2014 kicks off with the debut of Icelandic newbies THE VINTAGE CARAVAN. Despite their average age of not even 20, the Álftanes-based trio has dedicated itself the Classic Rock and Psychedelic, as displayed on »Voyage«, which is released on January 20, 2014.

A full treatment for eyes and ears is available on »Monsters Of Metal Vol.9«, also out on January 10, 2014. With an overall duration of more than 200 minutes through all genres, this DVD/blu-ray has everything a metal heart is craving for.

Close to the end of the month, things are getting a bit more melancholic with Finnish Pop fairies INDICA. With »Shine« front lady Jonsu and her fellow band members deliver a truly sparkling music gem and this almost four years after their last output »A Way Away«. All that’s left to hope for is that INDICA will soon make us shine with their appearance!

Mayan Meanwhile DORO Pesch set up with another striking encounter, as a guest of the big ARD Boxnacht on January 25. Together with her band the blonde rock singer performs her hit ‘Raise Your Fist In The Air’ as the entrance hymn for champion and titleholder Marco Huck.

Profound and socially critic is how Dutch band MAYAN presents itself on their second effort with the suitable title »Antagonise«. Main topic of the record that is out January 31, is the current state of society with all its lies, false pretense and nationally controlled espionage under the banner of terror defense.

Grand Magus Swinging that hammer as stable as ever, Swedish riff lords GRAND MAGUS have their new release called »Triumph And Power« also out on January 31 2014. Not even a full year passed since their last march of triumph »The Hunt« - with »Triumph And Power« vocalist/guitarist Janne „JB“ Christoffersson, bassplayer Mats „Fox“ Skinner and drummer Ludwig manage to easily tie on the success of their previous album and have been voted album of the month in both German issue of Rock Hard and Metal Hammer.
