The names Priest, Maiden, Armored Saint and Dio conjure images of legendary, classic metal acts who value precision playing, killer vocals, masterful songwriting and a sense of lyrical mysticism and fantasyas well as the occasional tale of epic partying. In recent years, a new batch of bands who share these core values and characteristics have begun bubbling to the surface of this metallic primordial ooze; at the head of this new wave in metal is Los Angeles quintet HOLY GRAIL.
In the few months since the bands inception, they received a full-page feature in the LA Weekly, toured the Western US and signed to Prosthetic Records, who released their debut EP, Improper Burial in late 2009. The band toured in November 09 with 3 Inches Of Blood and Saviours and this spring in support of Amon Amarth. They also appeared at this years DOWNLOAD Festival in the UK, toured the UK with Rise To Remain and played Germanys WACKEN OPEN AIR FESTIVAL. The Autumn will see them on the road again in the US, touring with Exodus as well as with Blind Guardian who tour North America for the first time in years.
